White is OK. It has a ’sterile’ appearance & hard to keep clean.
Light gray walls & medium gray furniture (or medium gray walls & light gray furniture) with black computer, stapler, baskets, paper baskets, etc.. I think would look good and not unusual office furniture and accessories colors so the prices would not be extreme for special order colors.
Gray walls, dark dark wood furniture ( not black) just dark and I would pull that purple color in to the window treatment not a lot of it just some , like in a valence or in the pattern in the drapes.
I would do the trim a shad or two darker or lighter then the walls .
that way its not competing with the purple fool but complimenting it.
you may even want do one wall the same color purple as an accent wall.
I would go to the store and get all kinds of color pant chips in all hues, and lay them on the fool to see what looks best.
I’d actually go with an olive green and an offwhite. it looks really good together =)
Hot Pink with orange stripes! That would look the best!!!!
I would choose a very light lavender and have accents of soft yellow to compliment purple.
I would say white, beige, or any light colors
a light shade of orange.

light red or lavender.
I would play it safe with a warm neutral wall color, like “sanderling” by sherwin williams.
White trim is certainly ok, but you could also go with an ivory if you find white is too much contrast.
As for the furnishings, any wood finish should look good, or you could go with white to matche the white trim. Like this:
