I’m starting my own interior design company, but I don’t want to use my name in the name of the business. Any ideas for something catchy, but not corny?
Do I get a commission for my suggestion if you use it?
Wow, I had to respond to this one because I’ve always dreamed of doing this myself. I know you don’t want to use your name but consider this: when I was younger, I put my first and last name together, sort of like the media puts Brad and Angelina together to make Brangelina but not that stupid.
So assuming your first name is Noelle, you could call it Elle Design Group or Elle Interior Concepts. Or if your last name was Mason, call it Masonelle Designs, get it? It’s not your name persay but it’s a place to start.
Otherwise, start with a term you learned in design school, a color on the color wheel, your favorite textile, your preferred style of design — ANYTHING — and base your name on that. The possibilities are endless!
